palawan-el-nido-islandMANILA, Philippines – El Nido Resorts, a group of eco-resorts on four islands in northern Palawan, is included on the list of Southeast Asia’s “most romantic destinations, best honeymoon resorts and must-see sights for every type of traveler.”

The list was recently released by GoASEAN, an ASEAN-focused travel initiative to promote the region as a single tourism destination.

Song Saa Private Island in Cambodia topped the list while Amanjiwo, Central Java, Indonesia came in third. Other resorts, which made it to the list include Langkawi Archipelago in Malaysia, Tanah Lot Temple in Bali Indonesia, Mövenpick Resort & Spa Karon Beach in Phuket Thailand, La Résidence Phou Vao in Lao PDR, Bagan in Myanmar and Six Senses Con Dao in Vietnam.

Getting to the El Nido Resorts involves a 55-minute flight followed by a boat ride that could take you between 25 and 50 minutes. “This works in your favor of course, because the crowds simply don’t make it there. This leaves you and just a lucky few to explore the stunning crystal clear waters, caves, idyllic white sandy beaches and forests that surround each resort on the islands,” GOASEAN said.

“It is an honor to represent the Philippines in the list of the best in the ASEAN region,” said Joey Bernardino, group director of sales and marketing. “Truly, the well-preserved location, bountiful marine life, and our friendly staff, enchants both local and foreign travelers – which makes them say it is indeed the most beautiful place in the world,” he added.
